Hippity Hoppity

I recently finished up a couple illustrations that will be part of a really neat book that is a compilation of different poems and songs all based around the theme and history of hip hop. The book was put together by Nikki Giovanni and I was really excited to have the chance to be a part of it.

One of the editors passed this along and it offered a nice insight into the project from an angle that didn't involve lots of scribbling and erasing.

All in the Family

My little brother fancies himself an illustrator as well. I think he's bloody brilliant. You decide.

New Scenery

Well well, after months and months something new has appeared on this page. I'd like to think that I've had a fine excuse for my inactivity in the ol blogosphere; moving to the other side of the planet, crazy (fun) amounts of work. Yeah, I think I can be forgiven my neglect of bloggish activities.
Anyways, so yeah, about 7 months in now to my new life in India. I should probably have a lot to say about the move and the culture shock and all that, but right now I just don't have the commentary in me. It's almost too big to comment on. Still, I should get down to a proper dissection of the experience one of these days.
Besides the move, work has been the thing that has dominated my time so aggressively. I've been more than happy with the amount and, more than that, the calibre of the projects I've been lucky enough to get in on lately so I'm not complaining. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the more recent work once it gets published and I can hold it in my little hands. In the meantime here are some samples from a few projects that I am finally putting up on my website as well.

Website Update and Printer Suggestions

Nothing dramatic on the surface of it but I mad a few changes to the construction on my website that will hopefully make updates in the future a little easier. I did a bit of culling of some of the pieces as well to make room for more recent pics. I have a feeling, though, that a full scale revamp is in order pretty soon. Maybe later in July when a few other things going on right now settle down.
I have a question for anybody out there who has done any printing with an online printer. Any favorites or absolute dogs you've dealt with? I'll likely be giving up my printer at home and begin using the online printers much more often pretty soon.
Thanks

Rockin Pinatas (in progress)

Here's a current piece in progress. Hopefully by the time this is ready to send out as a Spring mailer, Spring will have actually arrived!
